In today’s fast-paced world, stress is equally affecting adults and children all over the globe. We all know that it is not good for our health, but knowingly or unknowingly we keep on taking this slow poison in our day to day life.

Let’s understand, what actually is stress? How stress is affecting us emotionally and physically? and finally, we will see five highly effective steps to get rid of the stress.

What is Stress?

Stress is the basic defense mechanism of our body. Whenever we face any physical or emotional changes around us, our body prepares ourselves to cope with these changes by releasing a hormone called ‘Adrenaline’ which sharpens our senses and makes us ready for that change. This can be positive and negative both.

Let’s first talk about how this can be positive for you. Imagine you in the jungle and a lion is in front of you. Immediately, the Adrenaline will release and makes you ready for the defense. Your heartbeat will increase and pumps more blood and you will feel energetic to run away from the situation.

However, the same mechanism is having a negative impact on us when we start facing difficult situations in our day to day life, like urgent workload, relationship issues, or even if some mishap happened with

our loved ones. The impact of all these situations causes stress on our body and it puts us in the same defense mechanism again and again to handle the situation. When you take stress for a long period of time, you put your body on forever fight mode or defense mode and in the end our body will pay heavy tole for that.

Stress for a long period of time brings lots of problems for our health. It could be responsible for hypertension, high blood pressure, heart problems, and diabetes. Emotionally, because of stress, you start getting angry on small issues, sometimes you breakdown and start crying for no reason.

How to fight with Stress

1. Talk –

Communication helps the development of humans.  it makes us, what we are today.

Communication was the primary tool, which makes us a survival species on earth. Otherwise, dinosaurs are stronger than us but they are not here today, we are!

So next time, whenever you feel stress, just try to speak about it with your family, friends, and some support group. You will see the difference.

2. Positive Environment –

Create a positive atmosphere around you, put some light instrumental music, lit some candles, and have a cup of coffee or green tea. Put some plants at your home and office. Plants bring positive energy into our life.

Scientists have confirmed that hospitals, which having greenery around them, where the patient can see plants, flowers, and trees can recover faster.

Go for the morning walk, just before the sunrise and enjoy nature, fresh air, hear to the chimes of birds. Spending time with nature and observing it will bring new energy in your which will help you to fight with stress

3. Use a unique way of Breathing-

When you realize that you are in stress, try the breathing exercise. Just sit and take deep and slow breaths. With every breath, you take in, think about any positive person or a happy memory of your life, and then when you breathe out, think that you are taking the reason for that stress out. Repeat it 5 to 10 times and see the difference by yourself. This new breathing exercise will help you to control your stress immediately.

4. Spend some time with your Hobby-

Spending time with something you really like to do is the best stress-relieving technique that will help in the long run. We all have some hobbies, someone likes to paint, someone likes to write, for some person listing to music or singing can bring happiness. But with time, we forget about our hobbies or the things we really like to do. Bring out all those childhood memories and look around for that memory box, where you have stashed your hobbies. Spend some time with your hobbies, it will make you a happy and healthy person.

5. Have a positive attitude-

Having a positive approach towards life gives the energy to fight with stress.  Whenever we face stress for a long period of time, we start giving up and many times broke down. But having a positive attitude will help you to fight with the situation. Understand that it is just an event and it will pass soon. Believe in that supreme power, who is there watching you and taking care of you. Understand, you can face this situation and will come out as a winner, So “Stay Positive”.
